Appalachian Trail: Day 45

Today was a lazy day for the most part. I was up and moving around 8, but the outfitters didn't open till 9, so I walked down to the diner and had a good breakfast.
By the time I was done with breakfast, the outfitters was open, so I walked over there and bought a few freeze-dried meals for resupply. I could have made it to the next town with what I had, but the resupply options there is basically Dollar General, so I decided to grab enough to get me to the town after next since it was only a few more days and Hampton, TN will have better resupply options.
Afterwards, I went back to my tent and packed everything up. Since it was hot and I had nothing better to do, I went across the street to where the church had their tents and a porch with shade and charging.
I charged my devices and talked with various hikers while waiting for my stuff to charge and for the shuttle to show up.
Finally, the shuttle got there around 1 and a group of us piled in with our gear and rode for about an hour and a half to get back to Carvers Gap. At that point, it was already around 2:30.
From there, I did the 3.7 miles to get to the Stan Murray Shelter. I probably could have done more since it was only a little after 5 when I got to the shelter, but between the heat and the car ride, I wasn't feeling great, so I decided to stay here and proceeded with the usual camp chores.
