Appalachian Trail: Day 8
Disclaimer: This post is NOT sponsored. All the gear mentioned in this post was purchased by me at retail prices. I have no affiliations with any of the companies or brands mentioned.
My first zero day on the trail. I spent the day in Hiawassee, GA mostly just relaxing and recovering. I did do some resupplying to get me to the next town, bought a new charger block since my original one died and the cheap replacement I bought in Neels Gap is cheap. I also bought a second backup battery just in case since I had issues with the original.
I stopped by the local outfitters to see what they had. Not much of a selection compared to a big store like REI, but decent enough. I picked up a pair of Teva sandals so I now have some camp shoes. I also got a hiking skirt so I have a second pair of bottoms to wear while doing laundry instead of standing around in my rain gear.
I tried out of a couple of the local restaurants here in Hiawassee. Broncos, which is know for their smash burgers and Tilted Cafe which has free retro arcades Broncos was pretty good. Tilted Care was only okay. Tilted Cafe has a rotating tap, but sadly no stouts at this time of year.
