Appalachian Trail: Day 30
Disclaimer: This post is NOT sponsored. All the gear mentioned in this post was purchased by me at retail prices. I have no affiliations with any of the companies or brands mentioned.
Today started with a climb of almost 2500 ft over the distance of about 5 miles. I felt slow and tired. This climb lead to the summit of Snowbird Mountain.
At the top of Snowbird Mountain, there is a building which was some sort of transmitter for the FAA. There were some decent views near the building.
From there, it was downhill to Groundhog Creek Shelter, which was my original plan for the day. By the time I got there, my back was hurting, yet my legs and feet weren't that bad.
After a short rest that included some snacks and a refill on water, I decided to push a bit further. I made it a couple miles farther and setup camp at Rube Rock.
Another 4 miles and more climbing tomorrow will bring me to Max Patch. From there, just Bluff Mountain and about 20 miles stand between me and Hot Springs.
