Appalachian Trail: Day 14

Despite being a shorter day today, it was a HARD day. The climb up to Albert fire tower was brutal. Back in the days of Prodigy, there was a game called Mad Maze. In the maze, there was this mountain you could attempt to climb. The higher you climbed the further it looked liked you climb, but looking up it looked like you hadn't climbed at all. I don't think it was possible to actually reach the top of that mountain. That is how the climb up to Albert felt. It was steep and would just not end.
Once I did finally reach the top, the view was definitely worth it. I couldn't actually get into the fire tower itself since it was closed off, but I did climb the steps to the landing just under it for the view.
The rest of the day was easy by comparison. Even stopped at Long Branch Shelter for a nice lunch. Got into Rock Gap Shelter at a decent time.
Just a quick 4 miles in the morning to grab the shuttle into Franklin for a resupply.
